D-Day

by Jacque Abadie

I was given this framed picture from one of my mentors a few years ago. It is a picture of soldiers taking communion sometime after D-Day on the battlefield. The picture was given in light of ministry. A reminder of what really sustains us. Also that ministry is risky and costly, but the battle is never bigger than Jesus himself.

Powerful picture. I’m always struck by what appears to be conflicting values or feelings.

  2. Jacque, thank you for sharing this powerful picture. Beauty amidst ashes.

  3. Wow! I’ve never seen that photo before. Thanks for sharing it, Jacque.

Jacque, often we don’t do the right thing because we are afraid of what people might think. The men kneeling are oblivious to who or what is going around them. I am sure God is pleased beyond measure with their effort and attitude.
    Thanks for the reminder.

What stirs me the most is the fact that when it comes down to life and death, nothing matters but our relationship with God.
